Our Staff
Marty has almost 20 years of experience in the health care community in Sacramento. He was Executive Director of CARES, the regional HIV/AIDS healthcare center for six years, and a Senior Project Coordinator with Mercy Sacramento prior to that. He also spent some time in Santa Cruz as Director of Training and Program Development for a non-profit agency which develops health education and training programs. Before joining CARES, Marty chaired the HIV Health Services Planning Council, an arm of Sacramento County government which oversees the expenditure of millions in annual Federal government support for local HIV care providers. He has served on the United Way’s Health Impact Council and the Board of Breaking Barriers, a local agency which provides support for persons suffering from AIDS and other devastating illnesses. Marty also serves on the Advisory Board for the California HIV Research Program, an arm of the University of California.
